Little Snitch 3 prevents 10.8 restart/shutdown

I installed Little Snitch 3 on my 10.8 Macbook Pro recently and now whenever I try to Restart or Shutdown, the machine just hangs on the gray screen with the little spinning wheel. The first day, I made the mistake of selecting Shut Down and walked away, only to find my machine running full fans and still at that gray spinning wheel in the morning, 8 hrs later! Turning off Little Snitch makes the problem go away.

FWIW, this machine's internal HD is encrypted with File Vault, but I don't see why that should be an issue. Just something that might be odd.
