Update to 3.0.2 stalls at 'Updating Boot Caches'

I'm attempting to update from 3.0.1 to 3.0.2. The installers progress bar has gotten to about 99% of the way to complete and tells me that it is updating the boot caches.

Looking in the Activity Monitor I see that 'Little Snitch Software Update' is holding steady at .4% CPU and
'Little Snitch Installer' is running between .9% and 1.4%

Inspecting the installer process tells me that there are no recent hangs and no faults...

CPU Time is now at 1:19.74 and counting.

Should I:

a) assume that this just can take a long time and wait

b) force quit the process and reboot

Any insights or advice is greatly appreciated.
