1. Automatically Allow Intended Host
I dislike having to allow the host I just typed in my browser's address bar. It would be very handy to have a preference to automatically allow the intended host. I'm thinking about this primarily for the browser, but it might be useful for other apps as well.

2. Process Throttling Control
I hate when a process I didn't trigger starts hogging my CPU while I'm trying to work. It would be nice to have a similar control over processes that would let me throttle how much CPU a process gets, like cputhrottle with a robust gui. Additionally, some apps I do trigger start taking more CPU than desired when they are running in the background. Having background/foreground control would be great as well. I'm thinking users could have a preference like "Notify me when processes consume more that [percent] of my CPU". I'm not a CPU expert, but it might be smart to allow users to control how many cores an app can use as well, but I don't know much about that. I would love to be able to throttle how much CPU flash and Chrome get.

3. Other Useful System Stats and Controls
Instead of buying lots of different apps to show statistics and stuff, it would be great to just have it all in Little Snitch with opt-in/out preferences. CPU, fan speed, per app and total memory usage, top process, etc. would all be useful metrics inside of Little Snitch that could be triggered with a keyboard shortcut. Not sure if there's anything to it or not because I'm not much of a hardware nerd, but I've used free memory tools in the past when my computer slowed down. This might also be a nice feature.

4. Distributed Block List Sharing
Running the program the first time is overwhelming if you have lots of programs open. Users could collaborate on repositories to assemble different sets of rules that block ad sites, metrics, analytics, social stuff, known malware sites, porn, etc. with the ability to opt-in/out of each by simply checking a box or adding a repo url. Also would be nice if the OB folks had some default lists they maintained for users just getting started, then you could tick the items you wanted blocked when going through the application install procedure. This would make the install process much smoother and Little Snitch would be very "gmail-like". With gmail, you just don't see spam very often. Little Snitch could do that for all sites and users could all help keep the rules up to date.

5. Better Wording for Allow/Disallow Pop-up
I had difficulty understanding the wording of the pop up when I first ran Little Snitch. I think a better way to make it understandable would be a pop up like
[Allow/Disallow] [direction] by [App] to [host] on [port] [time period]
Then users could just hit enter when they wanted to accept the rule settings.

6. Default Rule Settings Preference or AI
For faster rule creation, it would be great to allow users to configure what they usually choose for [apps] with [protocol] for [time period]. That would usually mean that the user only has to choose what domain to allow. You could take it a step further and allow preferences for what the user typically chooses for different hosts. So, if I typically allow all sub-domains of the root url being visited in chrome, the rule pop-up would automatically preset those options. All of these thoughts make it seem like this would be easily done by AI. Either would be good, or a blend of the two would be best.

7. Disable Rules for Incognito or Proxy/VPN
Little Snitch needs a preference to disable all rules when using a proxy, vpn, or private browsing window. I think that says enough.

You're welcome. 8)
