I'm getting this problem now. It started a few days ago when in gmail I went to start a video chat and gmail changed around their icon locations so I hit google hangout instead of in gmail video chat. So it opens a new page and asks you to download a plugin to get google hangouts to work. Fine, download it and execute but now ever since I am getting spammed relentlessly with ksurl and kfetch phone homes. I read this thread and see the reason why and see that it was patched awhile back but with the plugin for google hangouts it has resurfaced. Can a developer take a look at this and get a patch out?
