I like your suggestion and hope the developer does implement additional features. I will say that I find TimeBar the most satisfying timer I've ever used even as it is. I used to love Chime Timer, which does have that visual aesthetic you mention; but you are restricted to the times set by the developer.
With TimeBar, you can change the sound it makes upon finish, as well as the message it displays on the visual pop down when it's done. However, as you say, it would be nice to have that animation in the center of the screen or something.
