Strange connections from SoftwareUpdateCheck

Hi

I have a fresh OSX (10.8.4) installation and Little Snitch 3.1.1 and notice that Apples "SoftwareUpdateCheck" tries to make strange requests:

SoftwareUpdateCheck...
   wants to connect to b.scorecardresearch.com
   IP Address      :           212.101.4.213
   Reverse DNS Name: a212-101-4-213.deploy.akamaitechnologies.com

I think this is not a security issue because swcdn.apple.com and b.scorecardresearch.com share the same IP address:

~> dig b.scorecardresearch.com
;; QUESTION SECTION:
;b.scorecardresearch.com.   IN   A

;; ANSWER SECTION:
b.scorecardresearch.com. 41197   IN   CNAME   b.scorecardresearch.com.edgesuite.net.
b.scorecardresearch.com.edgesuite.net. 3026 IN CNAME a1294.w20.akamai.net.
a1294.w20.akamai.net.   6   IN   A   212.101.4.213

~> dig swcdn.apple.com
;; QUESTION SECTION:
;swcdn.apple.com.      IN   A

;; ANSWER SECTION:
swcdn.apple.com.   2551   IN   CNAME   swcdn.apple.com.akadns.net.
swcdn.apple.com.akadns.net. 225   IN   CNAME   swcdn.apple.com.edgesuite.net.
swcdn.apple.com.edgesuite.net. 10130 IN   CNAME   a950.gi3.akamai.net.
a950.gi3.akamai.net.   16   IN   A   212.101.4.213

But I don't really have an explanation why Little Snitch tells me that SoftwareUpdateCheck wants to connect to b.scorecardresearch.com? It can't just be a simple DNS reverse lookup, because the names don't match.

I guess what I want to know is what exactly Little Snitch is showing in the "X wants to connect to Y" part. Could anyone shed some light on this?

As it is, I cannot really make a useful Little Snitch rule for SoftwareUpdateCheck - I don't want to allow it to connect to everywhere.

Am I the only one with this problem?

Comments? Ideas? Shrieking epitaphs? :)

Regards,
Sargon
