How about simply adding an any/any rule to Little Snitch to ask for outgoing connections so you'd see each attempt? You could initially deny it and change the rule later, as the notes in the right margin will fully disclose why the connection was attempted.

Little Snitch Software notes state "On Mar 11, 2013, Little Snitch Software Update tried to establish a connection to sw-update.obdev.at on TCP port 80 (http). The request was allowed via connection alert." Having had issues with upgrades of various software over the years, I prefer tighter version control and manual upgrades, installing only after full backups.
I've set it permanently to "ask" for outgoing TCP connections to sw-update.obdev.at port 80.

Little Snitch Agent notes state "This rule allows Little Snitch’s connection alert to request more information about a connection from Objective Development’s Research Assistant Database. You can safely disable this rule if you don’t use this feature." I do use this feature.
I permanently allow it outgoing TCP connections to wtf.obdev.com port 80.
