Power down host

Hi,

I want to use V-USB to create a powerswitch with a timer that enables a host (embedded system, no sleep functionalities) to switch itself off.
Is there a way to tell V-USB to "suspend" and wait until the host is back up?
What happens if usbPoll() is called while the host is down?
